The clear evening on August 11th makes it a wonderful day to go..
TO THE NIGHT SAFARI!!! RAWR!!!! DIE U ALL!!!! (Can't think of any more dramatic sentence)
Friday,10 August:
Everyone was bored on a friday night and thus Da Ge, Lei , Ah Wei and me met up in MSN to decide programmes for saturday. Due to the fact that Da Ge have the voucher "50% off for 5 tickets", we managed to decide our programmes for the next day.
Saturday,11 August (Before Trip):
Due to some Unforeseen circumstances, we did not set the time to meet on friday. And thus, no one knows exactly where to meet or when to meet. But due to some luck , my "Anyhow la" attitude and Lei's efficiency, everyone was informed at around 4.30 pm. The time to meet? Its 6.30 at Lot 1, Time's setted by yours truly.. me.. AHAHAHAHA...
Saturday,11 August (Pre - Trip):
Da Ge met up with me first at my house, after that, we went to Lot 1 only to realise that they're all going to be late... Da Ge, who's having a bad time with his cough, went to buy herbal tea that clears phlegm(Think it's spelled like this).. The herbal tea have the most peculiar colour and thickness... which made Da Ge have his doubts about drinking it.. but due to the fact it costs 3.50.. he had a go at it anyways... his comment... "Not Bad".. which i seriously doubt as well.. haha... After which, we both went to the arcade and played a game of "BattleGear 4". Soon after, the rest of the party reached. There're 5 of us altogether, Me, Da Ge, Jun, Lei and Ah Wei.
We then went to have dinner at Lot 1.
After that, we went to the bus-stop to wait for the bus 927. This is the time Jun and Lei have a serious debate of bus routes.. haha.... We actually had to wait a friggin 20 mins before the bus actually arrives.
Saturday,11 August (Trip):
Finally, we reached the Night Safari Entrance. There are a lot of ,what seems to be, torches. I had the urge to blow out some of them.. but somehow managed to overcome my curiosity. We headed straight to the ticket counter, where we found a 30 metre python.. nah.. kidding.. its a 30 metre queue.. sad by what i saw, i followed Da Ge to see the show, leaving poor Lei and Ah Wei to the queue. Thats where i saw a astonishing signboard at the front of a shop.. it is so scary that it redefines the meaning of "Horror".
It reads "Coke 500ml : $4, Mineral Water 500ml : $2.50, Can of Beer: $10.50"
After like.. 45 mins? We finally managed to get our tickets. =D
okok... Lei and Ah Wei finally managed to help get our tickets... =.=
We headed to the park entrance as soon as we got our tickets. Past by some animal handlers and 1 humongous owl on the way. As soon as we got into the park, our hiking adventure begins..
Saturday,11 August (Hiking Adventure):
We begin our hike after crossing the road. The first attraction.. is the "Suspension Bridge". I tried shaking as hard as i could on till the bridge creaked... haha.. its quite fun.. Everyone who have the chance to go there should try it. After crossing the bridge, we soon arrive to our first animal enclosure, "Malayan Tiger". There's no need to search too hard for this animal.. it's lying down next to the glass.. dang it.. cute tiger.
I've forgotten a lot of details about our hike.. so i'll stop going in sequence... haha...
There was 1 place where the Giant Flying Squirrel resides in. I didn't manage to see it though, Da Ge and the others saw it glide from 1 tree to another. It should be a spectacular sight though, everyone was going like "WOW!!!". There was another place which is similar to the Giant Flying Squirrel enclosure, its the Fruit Bat enclosure. Lucky for us, 2 fruit bats were fighting and thus they gave themselves away. If they did not, I doubt we'll be able to see it even if its 1 metre away. Reason being, the fruit bats that were fighting were just around 60cm away and they seemed almost invisible.
Well, the Tarsier enclosure was interesting. Due to the fact that it's enclosure was very small, Da Ge and me thought, how can anyone not be able to find something in this small of an enclosure. So we played "photohunt", Scanning every tree, every branch and every leaf. Hoping to spot at a single rustle of the leaves, every single sway of the branch.. But... despite scanning for about 20 mins.. we still didn't manage to see it.. so we gave up.
The Clouded Leopard enclosure was interesting too, Only that the enclosure was much bigger.
I'm thinking maybe Da Ge had the same adrenline to see the Clouded Leopard as me due to the fact we 2 photohunted the whole enclosure again, not giving up.. the experience was... eye straining.. haha.. BUT!!! How hard can this big of an animal be hard to find?
Answer: Damn hard.
It wasn't until we were leaving when i suddenly spot something in the shadows staring at me.
When i stared at what seems to be an empty space harder, i realised the "rock" had changed a slight bit of position.. thinking its my illusion... i rubbed my eyes a bit.. only to find the "rock" changed position again. And thats when i spotted a lot of darker spots under the dark cover of the tree. I FOUND IT!!! With this big discovery, i asked Da Ge to confirm. Woohoo! Our hard work pays off.
There are plenty of cute animals in the park. The little Otters were my personal favourite "cute animal", with the porcupine coming in second.. haha...
After hiking through the entire park, having seen Da Ge's "Animal to see" and my "Animal to see", Namely the "Fishing Cat" and "Mouse Deer", we went to see the Animal Show.
The Animal Show's host was a rather talented animal handler who can speak tons of language.
The most important message she have to share with everyone is
"Please switch off the flash of your cameras, the animals we are going to feature are nocturnal animals, meaning they come out in the night and so the flash will hurt thier eyes"
The first animal was the Wolf. With a lot of blunders. It's job is to howl out loud, which it failed to do better. The second animal was a ... erm.. animal from the cat family.. I forgot the name.. anyways.. it can jump damn high. You wouldn't want this cat to see u dangling from a tree.
Third animal is the Owl. Fly here fly there.. boring. Fourth is a bear-like animal that climb vines. Fifth is the python, which made the people in the middle row shout in fear.Because they kept the python under the seats... the animal handler who had to get it shouted very loud in front of the person sitting on it. "WAAAA!!!!!".. it scared the hell outta her, then he continued by saying "nice shoes"... Lame ass... anyway.. the sixth animal is the raccoon which made a mess and the 7th is the Otter which cleans up the mess. Cute otter.. i wan.. After that, the show ends and we head back towards Lot 1.
Saturday,11 August (Conclusion)
We had our supper at the coffee shop beside the bus interchange.. the food there sucks...
After that we headed home. =)
Lessons learnt that day.
1: If you wanna blow out the fire on the torches, do it.. i regretted not trying.
2:Search hard for any animals you wanna see. Preseverance is the key.
3:Don't work as an Animal Show host, you'll lose your friends due to your freezing jokes.
4:Do not eat at the coffee shop beside the CCK Bus Interchange.
5:Do not use flash photography on nocturnal animals.. HAHAHA
